Nicolás Aberastury has deep expertise in Banking and Financial Law and Capital Markets. He advises financial institutions and companies on a wide range of financial operations, syndicated loans and project finance.
He also has considerable experience in Capital Markets, having advised on local and international capital market transactions.
His background in the Fintech ecosystem includes legal advice to cryptocurrency exchanges, payment service providers (PSPs), card issuers, and "Financial as a Service" (FaaS) providers. Additionally, he has led legal departments of startups and actively participated in the development of legal structures for investment funds.
His practice also includes the strategic advising of Venture Capital funds, startups, and entrepreneurs across Latin America, guiding them in the structuring of innovative projects and investment rounds.
Education
Nicolás Aberastury is a lawyer who graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) in 2014.
He holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Universidad de San Andrés (2023-2024) (thesis pending), and he completed a postgraduate course in "Law & Fintech" at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) in 2020.
Academic & Professional Experience
Nicolás Aberastury was part of the Firm between 2018 and 2022, developing his career as an associate in the areas of Financial Law, Banking and Capital Markets. In 2022 he decided to take a step towards his professional and academic development, expanding his work experience in leading companies in the Fintech and investment sector.
In April 2025 he rejoined PAGBAM and was appointed Counselor.

He is admitted to practice in Argentina and is a member of the Public Bar Association of the City of Buenos Aires (Colegio Público de Abogados de la Capital Federal). He is also a member of the Committee of Bank Lawyers of the Argentine Republic (Comité de Abogados de Bancos de la República Argentina).
