Perez Alati Grondona Benites & Arntsen (PAGBAM) and Tavarone Rovelli Salim & Miani (TRSyM) have advised DOW and MSU Energía S.A. (MSU) in the negotiation and drafting of a US$50 million Power Purchase Agreement for the supply of renewable energy from MSU to Dow's production complex in Bahía Blanca, Argentina.
Dow was advised by PAGBAM, while MSU was advised by TRSyM.
According to a Dow statement, this transaction will enable the company to reach a 74% of Bahía Blanca's energy needs from renewable sources by 2025, thus consolidating its position among the world's top 20 companies using clean energy.
The agreement provides for the delivery of the equivalent of 28% of the demand of Dow’s plant, reducing approximately 296,000 tons of CO2 in 10 years.
The supply of clean energy will come from two solar parks in Argentina: Las Lomas, in La Rioja, with an installed capacity of 37 MW, and Pampa del Infierno, in Chaco, with an installed capacity of 130 MW. Dow’s commitment to advance in decarbonization and the conservation of natural resources is thus reaffirmed.
DOW was advised by Legal Officers Josefina Tobias and Paloma Berdichevsky and the PAGBAM team headed by Energy Partner Francisco Romano, with Counsellor Tomás Fernandez Madero and Senior Associate Nahuel Pérez de Villarreal.
