Pérez Alati, Grondona, Benites & Arntsen advised Banco de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Banco de la Nación Argentina, and Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires on a syndicated credit facility of up to US$34,000,000 granted to Empresa Pesquera de la Patagonia y Antártida S.A. (“PESANTAR”), one of Argentina’s leading seafood companies with over 30 years of operations, under Argentine law.
The funds obtained under the credit facility will be used by PESANTAR to finance the construction of a new freezer trawler currently being built in Spain.
The loan is secured by (i) a guarantee (fianza) granted by Newsan S.A.; (ii) a security assignment of all rights arising from the ship’s construction insurance policy (as well as any other insurance policies to be taken out in the future to cover the vessel); and (iii) a naval mortgage to be created once the vessel enters Argentina.
The first disbursement under the credit facility took place on October 24, 2025.
