Expertise
Enrique Betemps’ practice is focused mainly on Labor and Social Security Law. He advises on labor and social security regulations and represents clients in claims and proceedings before administrative and judicial entities and/or authorities with competence in labor matters.
His advice also includes the drafting and negotiation of contracts and legal instruments of labor nature, such as employment contracts, settlements between different parties, confidentiality and non-competition agreements, golden parachutes, stock option plans, etc.
He also represents clients in the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and in any dispute that may arise.
He has participated in different due diligence procedures, in a significant number of transactions analyzing contingencies of labor nature and related to the social security system.
Education
Enrique Betemps received his law degree from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral Santa Fe, Argentina, in 1986, and he received a Master of Laws at the Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, United States of America, in July 2000.
Academic & Professional Experience
Enrique Betemps joined PAGBAM in 1996 and he was named partner in the year 2015.
Previously, during 1995 he worked as a legal advisor in the Human Resources Department of TBA S.A. (Trenes de Buenos Aires S.A.) and in 1994 in the Human Resources Department of Metrovías S.A.
Mr. Betemps is the author of the articles ‘Reduction of the Workforce in Argentina’ (2009) and ‘Executive Compensation’ (2017), published in the Newsletter of Employment and Industrial Relations Law by the International Bar Association. He has written the Argentine section on social security of the CCH Latin American Tax Guide (2002). Since 2010 and up to date Mr. Betemps has been co-author of the Argentine Chapter of the Kluwer’s International Labour and Employment Compliance Handbook. Since 2019 he has been the author of the Argentine section of Lexology In-Depth (formerly The Law Reviews). He has also published numerous articles on labor issues. Furthermore, Mr. Betemps has participated as speaker in several conferences regarding labor issues, including the International Bar Association conference and the American Bar Association and Thomson Reuters La Ley, as well.
Mr Betemps has been recognised by numerous specialized publications, such as Chambers & Partners, Legal500, LatinLawyer, The Best Lawyers, Who’s Who Legal, The Leaders League, among others, for his legal practice.
